Long-Term Running Goals:

Try and get to the potential I know I can run at.

Personal:

Soon after I started running for Travelers Rest High School, I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. Since then I have used running as my way of remaining sane while fighting this disease and trying to live a normal life.

I am a graduate of Gardner-Webb University (2011). By day I'm a researcher for Cytec Engineered Matrerials working on carbon fiber. By earlier day (and later evening) I run.

I'm looking to push my PR's down as I feel I have minutes to shave off my 5k and 10k, and decades to take off my half marathon. I'm a bit of a trail enthusiast and I'm getting more miles on trails every week, but still focusing on road racing at this point.

My life philosophy is to always keep moving forward (faster). No matter what.

Nice long day with a 6mi WU and then a 2x400, 2x800, 400 all at 80sec splits. Legs felt markedly better than yesterday. Got through the hard part of the week and now just 2 easy days and a long run to go!

AM- 3mi Treadmill run at the Y. Legs hurt pretty bad in sharp waves around my shins and calves. Came home and watched Doctor Who with my legs in a bucket full of ice water.

PM- 5mi Trail run at Paris Mtn. Pretty reassured that I haven't injured anything, just completely exhausted my legs. Took today easy and we'll see how they feel tomorrow!

I also partially blame work yesterday for my legs hurting so bad. I was on my feet for 12 hours with minimal time to sit down since our trial was running so badly. Finally got home and in bed around 1:45 this morning which didn't allow for much recovery.  Man I love Mondays.

6mi tempo @6:20 pace with 3mi WU and CD.

Legs definitely didn't have any pop but weren't too bad considering the race Saturday. Was happy to get through it without feeling too bad.
