20 minute trail tempo at 8 min/mi. Ran from my house to a natural area which is in a valley with no shade. Nice hot run (95 degrees). Also my first run in my new Ultimate Direction race vest. Vest felt weird for about 10 minutes, then I didn't notice it again. We'll see how it holds up to tomorrow's long run. 

This week marks my first 40 mile week since probably 2013. Pretty happy about that. Especially happy about finishing the week with no soreness or aches to mention. 7 weeks til race day.

Easy run up to Horsetooth Reservior and back. 57 min. 600 ft of climbing.

Hill workout on the Towers Trail. 15 min warmup on flat trails. 10x2 min hard/2 min walking. CD down the hill. Felt pretty good. Very muggy by CO standards ~50% humidity and 80 degrees. 1400 ft of climbing. 

Weekly climb total: 3200 ft.

Easy (supposed to be anyway) run around Maxwell, Pineridge, and Spring Creek natural areas. Went a little too hard considering yesterday's run and the heat (93 degrees).

Went up to State Forest State Park for a long run on the Never Summer course. Didn't expect much snow. Ended up postholing in knee deep snow for most of the morning. Gorgeous weather and amazing trails. 11 mi in 2:34. Took a lot of breaks to check maps and talk to skiers.
